When Ranbir Kapoor’s private chef opened up about his diet for Animal

Riding high on the success of Animal, its lead cast’s fitness and fashion has been grabbing headlines for all the right reasons. A while back, actor Ranbir Kapoor‘s private chef Ramaskanda Shastry opened up about the “massive” preparation for the film.

“When the prep for Animal began, we knew we were preparing for something “MASSive”. Since it was crucial for Ranbir’s character to look a certain way, it was essential that he gained some weight and muscle, and so, we put in all our effort on his diet,” shared Shastry in a post on Instagram.

“No matter where we travelled to shoot, no matter how difficult the conditions in which we were shooting, Ranbir didn’t ever compromise on his diet. The Animal Diet was mainly eating large quantities of nutritious food, that helped build his body. We kept a track of what he was eating and made sure he was consistently eating even during the diet fluctuations throughout the movie,” noted Shastry, adding that it is “our privilege and pleasure @theprivatechefsclub that we got to play a small part in his journey of becoming the Animal”!

While a cook usually prepares the regular meals according to the taste of the family members, a private chef, especially that of a celebrity, is hired to cook for them according to their nutritional needs, and diet restrictions as advised by their nutritionist.

It’s about the basics, about what we do every day and how we do it when it comes to fitness and diet to achieve a transformation. Hence, when it comes to health, fundamental things like exercise, food intake, and sleep habits make a big difference, explained Saurabh Bothra, CEO, Habuild.

“The trick is moderation! The right amount of exercise – just enough to keep you motivated to show up every day. Meals also should strike a harmony with just enough carbs, protein, and fibre needed for your body. Eating seasonal and local foods in the right amount. And the simple habit of sleeping and waking up with the sun,” mentioned Bothra in an earlier interaction.

The daily rhythm of digestion, metabolism, sleep quality, and even the quality of our food, play a role. “These simple and balanced approaches to health make it easy to be consistent and eventually make health a habit,” shared Bothra.
