Laredo Health Department to hold healthy food drive

LAREDO, TX. (KGNS) – Residents looking to make a change in their diet are invited to take advantage of an upcoming food drive.

In observance of National Public Health Week, the Laredo Health Department and the Laredo Regional Food Bank will be giving out free food bags to the community.

Jaime Perez with the Laredo Health Department said this event is meant to provide residents with healthy food choices.

“We’re going to have over 200 bags to give out to our community, said Perez. “All healthy foods, it’s going to be on a first come, first serve basis and we’re going to be here from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.”

It’s all taking place on Thursday at the Laredo Health Department located on 2600 Cedar Avenue.

It’s free and open to all community members.
