3-Week Weight Loss Detox Program

body-detox-with-yogaDetoxification is the process of removing potentially harmful substances from the body.

A detox program is usually thought of as a treatment for drug or alcohol dependence. However, it can also be used to describe diets, herbs and other ways to remove environmental and dietary toxic substances from the body to improve general health and weight loss.

Here is a 3 week sample detox diet plan. It is designed to help detoxification and weight loss.

A detox program can help you lose weight. It is recommended that you follow it for at least three weeks.

People often notice an improvement in energy and weight after three weeks. They also experience clearer skin, regular bowel movements and improved digestion. You can also measure markers of disease or perform laboratory tests to assess for improvement.

These are the foods you can eat during a 3-week weight loss detox.

Fresh Fruits and Vegetables

Fresh fruits and vegetables can be used to detoxify, for health, and in weight loss programs.

Broccoli, cauliflower, broccoli sprouts and onions are great detox foods.

Rice

Rice cakes, brown or basmati rice, rice cakes and rice crackers, as well as rice pasta.

Other Grains

You can substitute rice with quinoa, amaranth and millet. These can be bought at a health food shop.

Beans

Lentils and split yellow and green peas are the easiest to digest and require little soaking. Pinto beans, kidney beans, pinto beans and mung beans are all acceptable legumes.

Nuts and seeds

Sprinkle unsalted nuts, seeds, and nut butters over any meal. Flaxseeds, pumpkin seeds and sesame seeds are all acceptable. Avoid peanuts.

Oil

Extra-virgin olive oils are the best for detoxification and weight loss.

Herbal Tea

Green tea, herbal non-caffeinated green tea, and other teas that are not caffeinated, aid the liver.

You can also try other detox beverages that are good for weight loss.
